YES Well what can you say about
Esperance Great and very friendly people who gave us free mooring on there
Jetty, great local knowledge was passed on and we also joined up with Azure,
Tracy caught up with a old friend Julie who kindly lent us her washing machine. This
is a must stop for all cruisers as the town is close by (in walking
distance), the Esperance Bay Sailing Club welcoming and the opportunity to
investigate the best of the surrounding archipelago to be taken advantage of and
definitely not to be missed. Many thanks to Zero, Matt and Brad and others for
their assistance and friendship.

Cape Arid 29th March. Internet
Access CDMA external Antenna YES A well protected bay with lovely
views, caught 3 lovely tuna on the way here. Cape Arid has a beautiful
white beach and has protection from most winds. We have become honorary
members of the Royale Cape Arid CrusingYacht Club and had a BBQ to celebrate on
shore. We have had strong wind warnings during our stay here changing to
an Admiralty anchor and learning to set it. The first night in 40-50 knot
winds we dragged in the middle of the night onto rocks and had to power away, no
damage just the bottom of the keel scraped. Middle Island is only 6 nm
away and is visible from Cape Arid.

Middle Island 2nd April Internet Access
CDMA external Antenna YES Nice Island
we explored Goose Island just off Middle Island. Middle island has a ship
wreck and a pirates hideaway- all written up in the history books. We
climbed to the top of Flinders Peak on Middle island following the green
flags with Chris and Lilly (Azure), left a message at the stone cairn at
the top. On the way down we followed the red flags (big mistake) we had to
bush bash major time and eventually found our way down again. The Pink
Lake was delightful, full of water after the recent rains. We are
currently waiting out either here or Cape Arid until the winds turn in our
favour for crossing the Bight.
