Darwin 6 months later

Cannot believe that we have been in Darwin for six months already. We have survived a wet season and hope to enjoy the dry season weather during the next couple of months. We have purchased a second hand car which gives us freedom to travel.

Well we have made one escape out of Tipperary Marina to Bynoe Harbour over Christmas. Sally and Ray are coming over from Broome for 8 days and we will again go sailing-weather dependant we will head either to Bynoe Harbour again or over to the Bathurst/Tiwi Islands.

Tracy is employed with Darwin City Council and managing Casuarina Library. Tracy catches the bus to Casuarina. Casuarina Library opened its doors on the 15th December after being totally refurbished-new carpets, new shelves, etc. It was interesting putting 60,000 items back on the shelves, in the correct order and getting staff back to the library and finding out how everything works. Tracy has a staff of 14 and is enjoying the challenges, althought there are days when she threatens to throw off the bowlines and head out to sea.

Paul was managing an auto electrical business but that did not last too long (long story) and is now employed as a marine auto electrician, he is enjoying getting down into bilges, installing equipment, and working on computers. He is working for Wheelhouse Marine for Wayne and Wendy.

Tamara came up for her 21st birthday for two weeks. We headed off to Kakadu for a few days and spent time exploring Darwin. The weather was kind and we even saw jumping crocodiles. It was sad to see her go back to Perth but she is starting her second year at Uni.

Samantha has moved into a house with Tristan in Sydney and is working on base.

Danielle is working for Atkins Caryle in Mandurah, which she is enjoying as she was previously working fly in fly out at the mines.
